The Smith Family assists young Australians experiencing disadvantage to stay engaged in education and build a better future for themselves. We support children and young people living in poverty by providing access to practical essentials they urgently need — such as school books, school bags, stationery, the correct school uniform, and extra help with numeracy and literacy — so they can keep up at school and go on to break the cycle of disadvantage.

The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage create better futures through the power of education. We partner with around 800 schools across Australia and support more than 186,000 children and young people to access education programs designed to help them overcome disadvantage.

Your generosity helps provide essential learning support and access to vital resources, empowering children to thrive at school and beyond. Every dollar raised contributes to breaking the cycle of disadvantage and opening the door to brighter futures.

We support young Australians experiencing poverty through holistic, long‑term education support that helps them overcome their circumstances and reach their full potential. All children deserve the chance to do well at school and grow into happy, successful adults. Yet today, 1 in 6 children and young people in Australia are living in poverty. Without access to essential education resources, many young people can lose motivation, struggle at school, and risk being left behind.

The Smith Family believes education is one of the most powerful agents of change. We work alongside children and families to create opportunities that lead to a better future.

Thank you for your generosity and for being part of creating positive change for young Australians.
